The subject vessel is a conventional U.S. Navy service (for age) all welded steel, non-self-propelled deck barge, originally built and ABS classed with a fixed base 60 to capacity rotating crane on deck for ocean service. The crane unit & machinery have been removed. The hull heavily framed & stiffened with a total of (24) compartments formed by five transverse and three longitudinal welded steel watertight bulkheads. This bulkhead division well exceeds the OSHA requirement for have one longitudinal bulkhead.
