The Republic of Guinea-Bissau is located in West Africa and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Guinea-Bissau is divided into eight regions and one autonomous sector, Bissau. The contractor Seth Portugal performed an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) project for the Companhia Logística de Combustíveis da Guiné Bissau (CLC GB) in the region of Bissau. The project scope included the construction of two mooring dolphins, which had to be equipped with a suitable fender system.

Our engineers designed a customized system with two SPC 1600 Cone Fender units and a steel panel design measuring 3,000 mm x 10,000 mm. With our holistic design approach, the system is able to safely accommodate all types of vessels in all prevailing conditions. This is important because the tides are up to 6 meters high at this location. We were awarded the contract in April 2019 and delivered all components at the end of 2019 to Porto de Bissau. The fender systems have been installed at an early project stage to make the site accessible for the construction works of the new pier, which will then be integrated into the new mooring structure, consisting of the dolphins and a new platform.

Thanks to Seth and CLC GB for choosing the SFT Group as their partner for this project! We wish you a successful operation of the new terminal!
