Meever USA is proud to announce the newest addition to the Meever USA marketing team. The Meever Beaver joins our team as an expert in civil and marine construction who will assist Meever USA in distributing a full line of steel piling products.
The Meever Beaver will star in a children’s coloring book, to be released this year. The coloring book is designed for the children and grandchildren of parents in the pile driving industry to teach them about pile and pile driving. The character was the brainchild of Jeroen Koelewijn, director of operations for Meever USA, and Lee Wilczynski, the marketing manager for the southeastern United States.
“This was Jeroen Koelewijn’s idea first,” Wilczynski says. “In advertising for this industry, everyone is so serious, and no one takes a light-hearted approach. I ran a contest with a freelancers’ online service and got about 60 drawings from around the world. The submission from Patea Pachuau, an artist in India, was head and shoulders above the other artists’ work.”
The Meever Beaver debuts at a time when cartoon characters – often animals, such as the Geico gekko and Liberty Mutual’s LiMu emu – are proving to be effective mnemonic devices to help people remember a company’s name. “Our first drawing [shown here] has the Beaver holding a cutting torch, and the next is of him putting up walls.” Wilczynski continues, “We’ve come up with about 18 drawings of what will be a whole series to be used in the coloring book and for future ad campaigns. We’ve been having a lot of fun, and our European office is getting a kick out of it.”
