The fourth facility in SFT’s portfolio will double production capacity for foam fenders and steel works to serve the growing demand from Spanish, Mediterranean and broader European, Middle East and African markets.

With a total investment of €7 million ($8, 205,000), the new facility supports ShibataFenderTeam’s long-term growth strategy and commitment to modern manufacturing techniques. The facility is equipped with cutting- -edge machinery, a test press with 180 tons of force for performance testing and R&D, advanced welding stations and blasting and painting booths.

Over the past months, the Spanish team has undergone extensive training at the sister facility in Rechlin, Germany, transferring know- -how to maintain the standards that define ShibataFenderTeam products. The German team will also remain onsite during the initial phase of operations to ensure a seamless integration of advanced manufacturing practices.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the symbolic start of the new facility’s operations, followed by a guided tour of the various manufacturing and testing areas, showcasing the facility’s advanced capabilities. Dominique Polte, board member of ShibataFenderTeam, addressed the audience, stating, “This new facility is an exciting step forward for ShibataFenderTeam, enabling us to better serve the market with advanced production capabilities and local expertise. We are proud of the investments we’ve made here, not only in terms of technology but also in the development of our skilled workforce.

“Valencia’s strategic location near key ports, its excellent infrastructure, and its highly skilled workforce make it the ideal place for this new facility. We’re confident that this investment will support our growth, and we’re certain it will help us continue delivering the high-quality fender solutions our clients expect from us.”
